D-Chiro-Inositol

A member of a family of vitamin B-like substances collectively known as inositol. However, unlike conventional inositol, d-chiro-inositol is an important secondary messenger in insulin signal transduction. This means it improves the body’s cellular responses to insulin, making it useful for insulin resistant conditions such as metabolic syndrome and diabetes, in men and women. It is also useful for PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) in women. d-Chiro-inositol may also promote weight loss and boost energy levels in individuals resistant to weight loss, caused by insulin resistance.
