Description
D-mannose is a 6-carbon sugar which occurs naturally in the body in small quantities. Preliminary research suggests that D-mannose might interfere with the adhesion of bacteria to the urinary tract, thereby protecting against some UTI’s. In vitro tests indicate that d-mannose can inhibit binding of around 50% of E. choli strains to epithelial cells.
